Antiques dealer Ralph Burnham restored the house at 77 High Street in the 1930s to expose its First Period architectural elements, The original owner of this house was John Kimball, born in Rattlesden, Suffolkshire, England in 1621, who arrived in Ipswich with his parents Richard and Ursula Scott Kimball in 1634. His wife Mary was the daughter of John and Mary Bradstreet.

  1. Thoroughly enjoy any information on the Kimball families as I am a descendant of Richard and Ursula Kimball. My Grandmother was Merle Rose Kimball. Thanks for all you do to preserve, protect and educate.

  2. I descend from John Kimball through his daughter Abigail. he was my 7th great grandfather. His sister Abigail was my 7th great grandmother.

  3. My mother bought this house in the early 1940’s for around $5,500.00 while my father was is North Africa during WWII. They had four of us children in this house….I remember the large fireplaces, the back room where we ate. I remember two years when the house was open for tours in the 1950’s and still have the brochures with all the houses listed. We always knew the house as “the house of oak and pine” It was always our favorite house as children. My husband and I now own the Goodhue house in Deerfield, NH which has ties to the Ipswich Goodhues.
